What is the pay scale?  How do I advance?

Each adjunct faculty rank has specific qualifications. The first two involve length of time in service and number of courses taught per year.  Length of time in service is calculated from the date of the first teaching night of the first course taught for Professional Studies. Rankings will be set and/or changed annually at the beginning of the college fiscal year (June 1).  Also, to be considered for advancement in rank, all adjunct faculty members must attend two of three Adjunct Faculty Meetings each year.  All consideration for advancement assumes good end-of-course surveys/faculty evaluations and recommendations by the Director of Faculty Services and Vice President of Academic Services.

Please refer to the adjunct handbook for additional information.

What is a Master Syllabus?

A Master Syllabus is a condensed version of the student guide.  It contains individual and team assignments and a brief overview of the course.  This document is posted to the SCHOLAR website.

What is a cohort?

A cohort is a group of 12 – 18 students who stay together throughout the program.  Each cohort follows a fixed, lock-step curriculum, and students take one class at a time, attending class one night each week.  Cohorts are sub-divided into learning teams of 3 – 5 students, which meet outside of class once each week.
